Current Iowa Swimming and USA Swimming rules will be used.

U.S. Master Swimming rules prevail where noted herein.

If you are unfamiliar with the technical rules used in USA or Masters Swimming regarding freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke this information can be found at the USA Swimming website by clicking HERE. Knowledge of these rules may help avoid disqualification.

Age Determining Date:
July 30, 2022 (age as of first day of competition)

The State Games of America reserves the right to combine divisions as needed based on registration numbers.

Coach Pass:
For swim clubs/teams, one coach will be allowed a coach pass for on deck access. The deadline to request a coach pass is July 11. Coach passes back be picked up at the pool. To request a pass, click HERE.

Male and Female divisions will be offered for each event in each age group. The State Games of America reserves the right to combine divisions as needed based on registration numbers.

Relays will be offered as open divisions for the following:
Relays will be offered as open events. Please enter your relay team with whatever gender combination you’d like. SGA staff will create relays based off registrations. If there are enough female and male only teams to make a heat, relays will be split into male, female, and mixed divisions. The mixed relays can have any combination of gender but cannot be all one gender. For example: 2 male & 2 female; 3 male, &1 female; 3 female & 1 male.

If you have a relay team to enter, all members must register and will list the other members during registration so SGA staff knows you’re on the same team.

10 & Under | 200 Meter Freestyle
11-14 Years | 200 Meter Freestyle
15-18 Years | 200 Meter Freestyle
19 & Over | 200 Meter Freestyle

Paralympic Events (open —- all ages):*
50 Freestyle
200 Freestyle
100 Breaststroke
100 Backstroke
100 Butterfly

* Depending on numbers, Paralympic events may be combined with other events/age groups but will still medal separately as their own division.

State Games of America reserves the right to combine or adjust age divisions as needed based on registrations.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three places in each division.

Athletes for swimming will pick up there packets including T-shirt and Athlete Credential when they check-in.

$25 for first event if registered by March 1, 2022
$30 for first event if registered between March 2, 2022 and May 1, 2022
$35 for first event if registered between May 2, 2022 and July 18, 2022

Each additional event is $5.00.

During registration, participants will be asked if they are a USA Swim member. If the answer is yes, please select yes. You will be charged an additional $5 fee (required by Iowa Swimming for entry of times to USA Swimming).

NO ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Admission:
All spectators age 3 and above must pay daily admission ($5). For options on purchasing admission, click HERE.
