+ Competition Information

Iowans: All Iowans must shoot at one of the June locations to qualify for the event. They must place within the top 3 of their division. For more information on the June events, click here: https://www.iowagames.org/event/summer-iowa-games/shooting-sports/trapshooting/. Starting Time: 10:00 AM

Out of State Shooters: Out of state shooters must have placed in the top three of the division in their local State Games.

Competition will consist of 100 target events: 16 yard, handicap and doubles.

Equipment: shotgun, maximum 12 ga., 3 dram, 7 1/2 shot, 1 1/8 oz. target loads.

Teams will shoot as a squad and must shoot on the same 16 Yard squad. Team awards are based upon the combined 16 yard score. A team consist of 5 shooters. Shooters may enter a higher grand level (i.e. 5th graders can shoot with 8th graders, etc.) A team must have a team name upon entry.

Rules:
All ATA rules will be enforced. Minimum handicap yardage will be 19 yards. Tie breakers will be determined by reverser score. In the event of perfect scores, those will be shot off.

Hearing and eye protection are required. All shooters are responsible for their own equipment.

ATA Divsion is no longer offered but ATA shooters are allowed to shoot but will be handicapped to the 19 yard line or ATA yardage, whichever is greater.

Age Determining Date:
Grade Divisions: based on the 2021-2022 school year: September 15, 2021
18 & Over Divisions: July 30, 2022


Food will be available on-site. Participants can camp on-site for $20/day.

Age 55 & Over | Female
Age 55 – 64 | Male
Veteran (65 – 70) | Male
Senior Veteran (71 & Over) | Male

Team awards are 16 Yard event only: 5th Grade & Under | Team 6 – 8 Grade | Team 9 – 12 Grade | Team

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three places in each division.

Shirts will be at your venue.

All Iowans must qualify at one of the June locations in order to register. The entry fee for that event will cover SGA in addition to the June shoot. Iowa shooters will have the option to purchase a State Games of America shirt for $5.

*Entry fee does not include target or shell fees. Target fees will be paid on-site:
Adult: $39.00 per 100 targets
Youth: $35.00 per 100 targets
