+ Eligibility

Open to any athletes of CA or NV and athletes who qualified through their local state games competition between June 2022 - June 2024 or the 2022 State Games of America (Iowa) by placing 1st - 3rd in any figure skating event who is member in good standing of either U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) or International Skating Institute (ISI). 

 

Skaters must be a currently registered member and in good standing of at least one of the following:

·         U.S. Figure Skating member club

·         U.S. Figure Skating individual member (in accordance with the current rulebook)

·         Learn to Skate USA® member

·         Ice Sports Industry (ISI)

·         For non-U.S. citizens, please refer to the rulebook for more information.[f1] 

 

This competition is open to eligible, restricted, reinstated or readmitted persons as defined by the Eligibility Rules of either U.S. Figure Skating or Ice Sports Industry (ISI) who meet the following criteria:

·         Residents of California or Nevada

·         Non-California/Nevada Residents

·         2022 (after July 1): All gold, silver and bronze medalists qualify from National Congress of State Games (NCSG) Member State programs, both Winter and Summer. Any medalist from the 2022 SGA held in Ames, Iowa qualifies.

·         2023: All gold, silver, and bronze medalists qualify from NCSG Member State programs, both Winter and Summer.

·         2024 (before July 1): All gold, silver, and bronze medalists qualify from NCSG Member State programs, both Winter and Summer.

·         Any medalists from the 2022 State Games of America is eligible to compete in 2024.

Note: Any athlete who has qualified in any event within a particular sport will be eligible to participate in all applicable events within said sport. i.e. An athlete who qualified in one event (Excel), would be eligible to enter as many events within Figure Skating at SGA 2024 – such as jumps, spins, showcase. At this time, we are not limiting the number of entries an athlete can make. If time does not allow for all entries, we will contact athletes to choose which events they to skate in.

NCSG Neighboring State Policy
Due to athletes in Nevada not having a NCSG full or developing member organization and since this state is geographically connected to the State of California these athletes will be allowed to compete in the State Games of America similar to normal California State Games years.


+ Registration/Entry Information

All athletes must complete an online registration with payment via U.S. Figure Skating's Event Management System prior to the registration deadline or maximum number of entries have been reached, whichever comes first. 

 

Deadline: Sunday, June 9th 11:59pm ET 

Early Bird Discount: $15 if registration completed by May 7th 11:59pm ET

Late Registration: at the discretion of the Director and Chief Referee, $50 fee applied

Changes after registration deadline: at the discretion of the Director and Chief Referee, $30 fee applied

To register, all athletes and coaches must have an account with U.S. Figure Skating. Those who have current or past membership in U.S. Figure Skating has an account. All others will create a non-member account as a foreign skater and coach. 

 

1.   Go to www.usfsaonline.org

2.   Enter your U.S. Figure Skating or if Compete USA events are offered, your Learn to Skate USA® member number and password

3.    Click EMS then “Competition Registration”

4.    Choose “2024 State Games of America” from the list of nonqualifying competitions.

ISI Athletes and Coaches:

You will need to create a U.S. Figure Skating account to register and manage your competition registration. Follow the attached steps to create an account as a Foreign Skater or Foreign Coach. Choose ISI as your federation.

If you previously held an account or membership with U.S. Figure Skating, it is recommended that you use the existing account. the competition schedule will be created and posted as soon as possible after the close of entries. The schedule will first be posted within the EMS Competition Portal, with an email being sent to all registered skaters and coaches. We will strive to have this completed by June 25th.

Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place skaters. Ribbons will be awarded to 4th place. Awards ceremony will take place immediately following the online posting of results, approx 15mins after each event concludes.

In all instances, we will try to put "2024 SGA" in the subject line so they can be easily found!
